Lost in Translation

August 8, 2011 by DanicasDaily 9 Comments

Happy Monday all!  Who is excited for the Bachelor Pad 2?  I don’t know what it is about that show, but, I LOVE the drama of it all and cannot wait to watch it tonight!  Today’s eats have been pretty darn tasty and I LOVE that everything falls into my points+ target for the day.

Sometimes I think orders get “lost in translation”.  This morning as I was rushing out the door, I didn’t have time to make up coffee.  No worries…enter the Café Cart on the Train.

My order: AN ICED COFFEE…..This is what I got ~ There is coffee and there is ice ~ it works. LOL.

I wasn’t sure what sounded good this morning for breakfast, but, I knew I wanted a Pluot and Nectarine.

IMG_5537

I also knew if I wanted it to stick with me I needed some protein so I added a Morning Star Veggie Sausage (cooks in 30 seconds!) and a light string cheese.

IMG_5538

Breakfast on the go for a 3 points+ that was completely tasty and kept me full for 3 hours.

In my RUSH to get out the door this morning, I grabbed a container from the freezer, threw some lettuce/carrots/tomatoes/cucumber salad in a container with a Chobani.

I FEARED the unknown….I didn’t label my container so I didn’t know if it was soup or sauce.

I think secretly my brain wanted Tacubaya this morning Open-mouthed smile  I LOVE that place!

I ordered my usual Taco de Pollo (5 points+)

But, ventured out away from my usual FAVORITE Enadalad de Prima for some comfort food I have been craving.

Tamal de Verduras– summer squash, cremini mushrooms, queso cheese & roasted poblanos steamed in banana leaves with salsa verde, crema & cilantro

I LOVED the heartiness of the mushrooms and the little pockets of cheese with the sweet corn tamale!  This was HUGE so I am counting it as two tamales (10 points+).

When I walked in the door tonight The Husband already had dinner started with all of his favorites…..any guesses?!

Tri tip of course!  3 oz of perfectly crusted, yet, soft Harris Ranch Tri Tip (3 oz – 3 points+)

IMG_5550

The SWEETEST & by far the BEST organic corn of the season (2 points+).

IMG_5549

I am so proud of him for throwing green beans in there too ~ he remembered Open-mouthed smile

The BEST dinners are the ones you have help cooking…..

Complete with dessert! Red heart

We also had organic corn. Looked just like that but I sprinkled lemon juice and cajun seasoning on it before grilling it in foil.

Too funny about the coffee + ice. LOL. You have to wonder sometimes….

You really have a great husband. Of course, I’d say he’s a pretty lucky guy himself. 😉

Best thing about my Monday were the laughs my boyfriend gave me before bed. Hope your Monday ended on a great note too!

OMG, that taco is making my mouth water! I saw a recipe for zucchini enchiladas, but misplaced it – I need to look for it again though – I seriously could eat Mexican food every day and never get sick of it!

I tuned into the Bachelor Pad and thought it was absolutely ridiculous- regardless, I couldn’t stop watching HA! I really can’t tell who is the real villain, Jake or Vienna…
